Meet Wilee
Wilee is Andrew’s loyal companion and a very good boy indeed. With soft chocolate fur, a small white patch on his chest, and a shiny gold “W” on his collar, he’s always ready to lend a paw — whether it’s fetching wood, sniffing out squirrel letters, or keeping sleepy badgers company.
Wilee has a voice of his own and is never shy about using it. Sometimes it’s an excited bark, sometimes a thoughtful comment, and sometimes a question that makes everyone stop and think.
At just under two years old, he is still very much a pup at heart. His tail rarely stops wagging, and when the lead appears, he can hardly contain his excitement. On woodland walks he pulls forward eagerly, nose to the ground, certain that something important is waiting just around the bend.
He has been known to chew a cushion, scatter fur across the workshop floor, and bounce enthusiastically at the slightest sound. Farm animals are especially fascinating to him. He doesn’t mean any harm — he simply believes everyone wants to play. Andrew, however, keeps a careful hand on the lead until he is sure excitement will not cause trouble.
Despite his scampish ways, Wilee is deeply loyal. He sits beside Andrew’s bench while pens are shaped, watching wood shavings curl to the floor. He speaks up when something seems unfair, encourages friends when they feel unsure, and never misses the chance to celebrate a small success.
Brave, affectionate, and endlessly curious, Wilee brings warmth and gentle humour to every story he’s part of. In Andrew’s workshop — and in the woodland beyond — he helps remind everyone that courage often begins with enthusiasm.
